Whenever I’m in doubt on what to wear I always find myself gravitating towards black + white. I don’t own too many black tops (the shock!) but the ones I do own are favorites that I reach for over + over + over again. Luckily my love affair with all things white is a whole different story. White pants, white tops, white dresses, white shoes, white purses! You name it, I probably own a white/cream colored version of it. I always feel so airy + pretty in white + off white that my eye is automatically drawn toward that hue when shopping. I am much more meticulous in my procurement of black pieces. Maybe it’s the timelessness of a nice black piece, maybe it’s just the need that it be versatile, maybe because I know that piece will be a wardrobe workhorse- whatever the reason, whenever I add a black colored piece to my wardrobe I think + over think it before I take the plunge. I want it go with everything, I want to be able to throw it on + walk out the door feeling put together, and I want to be able to take it from playground to date night in a flash with a quick shoe change. This black cold shoulder sweatshirt got a check in every box. I tried it on in a small in store only to realize it runs a bit big + ended up ordering it in xs for the perfect slightly oversized fit. I love the paper bag gathering at the shoulder + the hint of skin combined with the comfortable higher neckline. And bonus: it is SO freaking soft. I wish I could clothe myself from head to toe in this cozy sweatshirt material. It also comes in so many perfect all season colors… Would it be too much to grab it in that heather gray?!

Keeping with all things trendy I paired it with my Steve Madden mules, a pair of white jeans (those darn j. brand ones again!) + my Gigi New York black tassel clutch. These ray-bans are by far my most favorite sunnies of late. They are polarized + so perfect for driving that I am debating a second ‘back up pair’ should anything ever happen to this one.

If you are in the market for a cold shoulder not-too-heavy-not-too-light-super-soft sweatshirt for any season to dress up or down then I have found the Goldilocks of tops for you. xo, Jules.
