LWJ (little white jumpsuits) & garden parties

Happy Wednesday! Today’s post is all about my favorite LWJ (little white jumpsuit). As you may have picked up on, I love a great jumpsuit any season of the year but even more so in the summer. They are so fun and also feel fresh and modern when compared to dresses. They can be both dressy and casual and depending on the style and accessories can look either casual-cool or girly chic. For all my love of them I actually don’t own too many. I have a great black one by Drew that is perfect for anything from date night to NYE, a fun backless dark teal one with the coolest wide legs, and a super casual boho one as seen in this post. With that said I have been searching high and low for the perfect, effortless white summer jumpsuit.

It seemed like the darker 2 had me covered for evenings and parties while the green Old Navy one had all the casual everyday stuff in between. All that was missing was the perfect light and breezy white one. Luckily there are so many great white jumpsuits currently available right now, it’s like the shopping Gods heard my prayer and started producing them in every material and shape for this summer! Hurrah!

After trying on a few that almost ticked every box for me, I finally found the perfect one in this linen, tie front number by Free People. It’s light and airy, perfectly loose and bohemian, and has sleeves (which was something I had struggled to find in a summer jumpsuit I liked). Plus, the simple fabric and cool cut of it make for a killer dress-up-dress-down piece. I’ve worn it with sandals and a ponytail for a casual garden party BBQ (albeit avoiding any actual BBQ sauce), dressed up for date night with a pair of mules and my Cult Gaia Ark bag, and plan to make the most of it for any upcoming summer trips and well into winter ones to the beach this year.

Here I paired it similarly to my date night look with some dainty gold jewelry, big shades, brown suede mules and simple sun-kissed makeup. I just love the easy, breezy vibes this outfit gives me and the comfortable feel of linen in the summer heat. As with many of Free People’s pieces it runs on the roomy side so definitely order your normal size or even a size down if you’re petite (I am wearing an xs). It does hit at the perfect length on my 5’4″ frame and the top has a tie at the back which makes the shoulders adjustable. If you’re on the lookout for a great summer white jumpsuit, I’ve linked mine and a few faves below!
